We have been using Norton for over a year with no problems at all.

First off, delete Norton AV for Exchange. It's the worst product on the
market. (Take it from experience.) Install instead McAfee Groupshield for
Exchange. You'll notice a big difference right away. First of all, yo uwon't
receive runtime errors upon setup, and second of all, it ALWAYS runs.
(Unlike Norton which goes down constantly without warning.)

But Microsoft recommends not to install Outlook on Exchange Server
machine.

Did you install the Outlook on the server, I think I read it on the
symantec installation notes that you need to install the OUtlook on the
server and also to configure an account that is not the administrator...
they recommend you to creat ea special account for that.

We have Exchange 2000 Standard Edition installed on a Windows 2000
domain
controller. Windows 2000 and Exchange has win2k sp2 and exchange 2k sp2
respectively. We tried installing the latest version of Symantec
Antivirus
for Exchange 2000 (with filtering), but after entering the email address
of the administrator and click on next it always gives us a runtime
error
(Microsoft Visuall C++ Runtime Library). The account that is logged in,
is
both the Enterprise administrator and the Exchange Administrator. We
have
also restarting the services and even the Server, but we still arive
with
the same error. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Arwin
