I had this problem before as well. When using outlook to get the mail the server would just die. So, I tried using Outlook Web Access and was actually able to get in and delete the message without a problem. However, it might be worth ... since your Information Store has crashed multiple times doing an offline repair and defrag. -----Original Message----- From: Rodney Harris [mailto:Harris@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 4:34 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Stored mail that causes information store to crash on access http://www.MSExchange.org/ I have a user mailbox that has at least one e-mail in it that causes the information store to crash each time it is accessed. I am thinking about disabling Groupshield for exchange and retrying to select and delete it but will have to wait till after hours. This has caused the information store to crash when trying to back up this particular mailbox, when I have tried scanning the information store using Groupshield, and when trying to manually delete the piece of mail. Has anyone else had this problem? And, is there another way to delete the mail without selecting it in Outlook to delete it? More info: We are running Exchange 2000, McAfee Groupshield, and McAfee Netshield on the server. The client is Outlook 2000. The one e-mail that I know of and is in question has an attachment.
