Are the users who are able to rely logged-on/authenticated to your
domain in
which the exchange servers reside?

Raj

Thanks

Should the list of ip addresses there be a list of ip addresses on my
network? What do I do if I don't want anybody to be able to relay mails
by telneting into my port 25. Secondly if I successfully stop mail
relaying, from within my network will I still be able to telnet into my
port 25 and relay mails.

Thanks

Go the the smtp server properties and there is a button relay. First of
all choose no one except the lsit below. And make the lists of ip's you
want them to relay on your server.

.

Hi Guys,

I have a major problem over here. I am presently using Exchange server
2000 and I noticed that people are able to telnet into my port 25 and
use my server as a relay. I tried setting the configuration on the smtp
virtual server but it was all to no avail. Please could anyone guide me
on what to do so as to stop mail relaying on my server. The
configurations on the smtp virtual server are quite tricky.

Thanks for your help

Seyi
