Markus, you talk about adding a reg key for RPC TCP/IP service for
static port for OWA front server.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters
Registry Value: TCP/IP Port
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: (available port)

Microsoft tell you to add reg key for RPC TCP/IP service under

To configure the RPC Port for the Microsoft Exchange Directory Service

Under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, locate the following subkey:
System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeDS\Parameters

Add a REG_DWORD TCP/IP Port value to this key, with a decimal data value
of 5000

To configure the RPC Port for the Microsoft Exchange Information Store
Service

Locate the following subkey:
System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem

Add a REG_DWORD TCP/IP Port value to this key, with a decimal data value
of 5001

To configure the RPC Port for the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant:

Locate the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeSA\Parame
ters
Add a REG_DWORD TCP/IP Port value to this key, with a decimal data value
of 5002

Markus , can you give me some advice with adding these static ports

best regards Graham

Hello ;)

My opinion is to desinstall e2k3 on your DC and reinstall it on the new
machine, I think it will be the best and simple way to avoid problems.
Note that during this operation, no one could connect to their mailboxes
;-). So do it out of business.

If You had one machine for AD 2k3 AND one machine for your e2k3, and for
hardware failure you need to change your e2k3 to a new machine with the
same name, then there is a particular procedure you have to follow such
as reset e2k3 old machine, and do a /disasterrecovery on the new e2k3
machine.

But in your case, e2k3 and AD is on the same machine, do do a simple
uninstall of you exchange.

Regards,

Yann
