Evan, what is your time frame for this appliance? There is a product I use
on my e-mail server that is excellent that is coming out with a gateway
version very soon.

Also, both Symantec and Sonicwall have e-mail gateway products/prices. You
can contact me off list if you would like me to get pricing on these for
you. (I am a partner for both companies.)

Outsourced products are not an option. I have 1300+ users I need to
license, and even at something as low as 1.75-2/user, it's just far to
expensive per year.

And to clarify, I'm not looking for recommendations on products, I'm looking
for actual pricing that you guys may have recently received on whatever
products you looked into.

Postini.com is awesome if the pricing is right for you. Also, take a look at
the e-soft products. I've been using their Instagate products for years with
great satisfaction. www.esoft.com

I recently priced the Symantec Mail Security 8240 Appliance at PC
Connection.

1 Appliance (hardware) 1657.85

150 150 user maintenance $29 per = $4350

Total = $6007.85

If instead I went with the 2-year maintenance, it would be total=$8407.85
for 2 years.

My company may be looking for a new solution this October (spam and virus
scanning). My most likely option right now is a scanning service such as "MX
Logic" or "MessageLabs". I found that for 132 users MX logic is $2.25 or
$1.75 per user, per month. (price depends on service level and options.)
