Whoa, flag on play. It is not recommended nor a good idea to block on a RBL hit. You just have to choose the RBL list (or lists) that you want to use. Chris _____ From: Seb E. Spam Assassin was very hard to install and I'll think I will removed it. How do you do the black hole list? Seb _____ From: Chris Williams [mailto:chrisw@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 05 December 2004 21:52 To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Spam Protection http://www.MSExchange.org/ Why would you do both IMF and SA? Those seem like overkill, since they both do essentially the same thing. There are those that would probably argue SA is technically better, but that's a personal decision. We're running IMF, since it's easier to install and manage, IMHO, than SA. You may also want to look into doing some blocking against a real-time black hole list. Exchange can do that, and SA as well, if you enable it. This would block some of your incoming spam before they get into the content analysis phase. Finally, I'll just point out that IMF is great, but if you want more end-user control over things like white lists, and the ability for users to create and view personal quarantines, you can take a look at a product from my company, Sirana SpamCenter, which is an add-on to IMF. http://www.sirana.com/products/spamcenter Chris Williams Sirana Software _____ From: Seb E. I have setup IMF and Spam Assassin with McAfee Group Shield 6. Does this seem adequate spam and virus protection? Any suggestions on improvements?
