To stop Exchange, create a batch file with the following:

NET STOP MSEXCHANGESA /y

To start Exchange, create a batch file with the following:

NET START MSEXCHANGESA

NET START MSEXCHANGEIS

NET START MSEXCHANGEDS

NET START MSEXCHANGEMTA

NET START MSEXCHANGEIMC

To stop and start Exchange on a remote machine, you must have the
Windows NT/2000 Resource Kit installed on the computer. The commands
necessary are contained within that Resource Kit. Wait.exe is available
as sleep.exe in the Windows NT/2000 Resource Kit. To stop Exchange on a
remote machine, create a batch file with the following:

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEIMC \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /STOP

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEINS \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /STOP

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEMTA \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /STOP

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEIS \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /STOP

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEDS \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /STOP

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGESA \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /STOP

WAIT.EXE 20

To start Exchange on a remote machine, create a batch file with the

following:

NETSVC MSEXCHANGESA \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /START

WAIT.EXE 20

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEDS \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /START

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEIS \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /START

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEMTA \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /START

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEIMC \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /START

WAIT.EXE 15

NETSVC MSEXCHANGEINS \\MACHINENAME <file:///\\MACHINENAME> /START

WAIT.EXE 1

    At that order

Subject: [exchangelist] Some daily maintenance for Exchange

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Group,

I had some problems with our Exchange server with the database. We were
able to run the Eseutil after we moved the mail to a newly created mail
store.

What I was thinking about is, to create a bat file and then put it in
the schedule for a daily defrag and integrity check.

Does anyone know what the command line to dismount the Information store
and the public folders?

Has anyone tried this?

Thanks
