There is never any need to do an offline defrag unless: (a) PSS has explicitly instructed you to do so, or (b) the usage patterns of the database have changed dramatically. ________________________________ From: Robert Lawson [mailto:rlawson@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2005 10:09 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: Soka|Defag|Frequency Hello All, We just finished doing offline defrag (ESEUTIL /d /p) on our mailbox stores after implementing storage limits. Do any shops out there do a defrag on any regular time interval? We were guessing 1/quarter during our regular maintenance down time. We are Exchange 2003, Windows Server 2003, 1xFE-2xBE shop.
