AT&T dialup does the same thing. We request the port be opened each time we
open an account.

        It's cool, turns out Bell-going-South has started blocking port-25
for outbound. So without even thinking to check most if not all of my
messages are sitting in my queue. 

        I guess it's time to move on to another data access provider.
