RE: [SPAM?] RE: MAPI access urgent!!

No Roger, I Still have problem with RPC over HTTP. I got only MAPI client 
working accross firewall. 
 
RPC over HTTP is not working as it is supposed to. If i give my back end server 
as the Exchange server name and Front end server FQDN as my proxy then it 
connects but the traffic from the client is only TCP insted of HTTPS. I checked 
using etherreal. 
 
I have followed MS document (RPC over HTTP deployment scenario) but no luck. 
This is the second time i am trying to make it work and i am frustrated now. So 
i thought i will work on this this weekend. 
 
i Wish somebody throws some clue on this and help us out this situation.

I got this running now. We are able to connect to exchange 2003 server behind 
firewall. I have opened following ports from LAN 1 to Exchange server LAN: RPC 
135, 53590, 1175,1082,NBT, MS-DS. Not sure all these ports are needed but it 
started working after opening this. Basicaly i got these ports from firewall 
log. 
 
However connectivity is very slow. If i connect from the same LAN as the 
exchange server then it is faster, but from the  LAN 1 it is slow. Is it 
because traffic has to pass through firewall or is because this particular LAN 
do not have ADS, DNS ... Should i install one more GC on this LAN 1 or is there 
any other better option.
 
RPC over HTTPS  works only for win xp sp1 with outlook 2003. We have many 2k OS 
& old outlook clients also at present and it will take at least two months to 
move to outlook 2003.

What do you mean by different networks?, different domains, different forests, 
different subnets etc etc 

 

I would recommend looking at using RPC over HTTP instead of turning your 
firewall into swiss cheese.
