Hi. This morning our MTA crapped out and refused to start. After tinkering
around we found that somehow the SMTP service had been removed. Reinstalling
it and Exchange (with /reinstall) seems to have fixed the problem. My
question is: how did SMTP get booted in the first place? Was there a recent
patch or service pack for Win2003 that turns it off? Our Symantec seems to
be up to date and working, so I don't think it is a virus. Thanks.
