SMTP Service will not start

I am looking for some help with an Exchange problem where my SMTP service
refuses to start. I can get all other services to start but as soon as I
attempt to start SMTP, nothing.
I am running SBS with all the latest patches and everything else seems to
be working fine. I would really appreciate anyones help with this
problem.
Does anyone know of any utilities that would help diagnose the problem?
