Are you saying you want to delete EVERYTHING in the queue?

That's pretty easy: \Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi 1\Queue is the
default location.

I don't know how advisable it is though. But it's easy to do.

Stop the SMTP service, CD there, del /Q *.*, restart the SMTP service.
See my BadMail blog entry for a script that can easily be modified for
this.

I'm guessing it's done in the same manner that you can mass delete
emails from the badmail folder. I haven't gone poking around yet and
thought I'd see if anyone has done it.

Again, thanks!

I know there is a way to do it, as I had to once when a clients
Exchange server was hijacked thanks to a Trend Micro product, but that
was about 18 months ago and I do not remember right now.

Ah, I had opened up my SMTP protocol to allow for a php script
to send mail through our server until I figured out how to pass
authentication along with the message. It's mostly out of curiosity at
this point, but it might help others to know that if they have tons of
mail in a queue (sent legitimately by those inside their organization
and perhaps is just delayed in connecting to the receiving server) they
can delete it without having to target the destination domains
individually. I'm guessing that's the only way as John typically posts
not only information regarding what may be causing an issue, but also a
solution. :)

        Thanks for replying John

More importantly is to first stop what ever it is that
is happening to cause that.

Hi all... I understand how to delete queued items from
the SMTP queue, but it seems as though you have to do it individually
for each destination domain. Is there a way you can mass delete from
the queue with no NDR?

                Thanks!

P.S. Tried SHIFT and CTRL - select.. no dice.
