The test environment has to match your production environment - Server Name, Storage Group Name etc. If this is not the same, it will not be successful. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Meelhuysen [mailto:mark@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, August 12, 2005 10:00 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Restoring MDBDATA folder with database and logfiles in Exchange 2003 http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hello, One of our clients called us in for some support. they needed our expertise to restore an exchange database. The one difficult thing is that their backup has failed for some time and that they only have a ghost image of the old environment. We managed to extract the MDBdata folder from that error and tried to restore this to a testmachine to save the emails. Although I performed the action before, about 6 months ago, it just wont work now. I already checked the microsoft knowledge base and the MCSE 2003 Microsoft Eschange study guide, but I cannot get it restored. I keep getting the error that the IS cannot be mounted. At this moment I cannot tell any errors exactly, but I will send it later. Maybe some of you guys now some things or scenarios that I can follow. Or maybe some tips.. mark.. ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSEXchange.org Discussion List as: lgordon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
