I have a user who's mailbox I need to re-name. I need to rename his physical mailbox that resides in the Mailbox Store. How do I do that exactly?
From what I have found, the mailbox is the same name as the "Alias" which is displayed in the AD properties in the "Exchange General" tab. If I replace the current "Alias" with the new "Alias" will this rename the existing mailbox transparently to the user (so no mailbox are lost and it is transparent to the user) or will this create a brand new, empty mailbox wth the new name, and detach the old one, which will then languish somewhere, and the user will call me in a panic saying "where did all the stuff in my mailbox go!!??"
(Note: I do not need to rename the email address, that would be the SMTP Email).
