If you have win XP in your laptop then you can use "Remote Dekstop" to
administer any kind of Microsoft Server. Remember to make sure that you
have Terminal Services installed in the server. With this option, you
don't have to worry about installing anything in your laptop every time
a service pack is available.

Talking abt. Terminal Services... I know that Win XP "Remote Desktop" is
really the same technology as terminal services (with a new different
marketing name)... can you use that to administrate the W2k server
remotely, or do you have to install the W2k Terminal Services client in
the Win XP machine?

You could use Terminal Services, you could install the Windows 2000
Admin
Pack and Exchange System Manager on your laptop, if you are running XP
Pro
on your laptop then you need to follow special steps to get the Exchange
System Manager to work, if you are running W2K Pro install the Windows
2000
Admin Pack (adminpak.msi) from the Windows 2000 Server CD and then
insert
the Exchange 2000 CD and install the Exchange System Manager, apply the
Windows 2000 SP and the Exchange 2000 SP.

Hope this helps

Are there tools that allow remote administration of an exchange server?

I've just completed upgrading our NT4 domain to Win2k and installing
Exchange 2000 - now the fun starts, but I'd rather be able to do all the
config from my laptop than from underneath the server rack!

Thanks,
