Reg adding another user email account

We are using exchange 5.5 with service pack 4 running
on 2000 server .  We have created one distribution
list
and added some of the users  available in the Global 
list. Now i want to add another user who is not in 
our receipents list what i mean is that adding another
user e mail account  to this distribution list. 
Anybody who done this please explain this.
