That is completely wrong, Recipient Containers in 5.5 are not the same as Contacts in Exchange 2000/2003, Custom Recipients in Exchange 5.5 are the same as Contacts in Exchange 2000/2003. Organizational Units as Paul mentioned are what really replace Recipient Containers.
