Do you have an isa server in front of exchange?

Hmm, that's strange.
I setup RPC over HTTP just a week ago using domain.local internally and
domain.com externally. And it works fine for me.
But, I only have one server, so no front-end/back-end scenario here...

I followed this document:   http://support.microsoft.com/?id=833401
I think this document is very helpful, especially on how to setup SSL. In the
beginning, I created my own SSL certificate, which makes it a bit more
difficult. If you buy a certificate, it's easier since the certificate will be
automatically

At the validports registry entry, I added the following:

<netbios servername>:6001;<servername.domain.local>:6001; <netbios
servername>::6004; <servername.domain.local>:6004

Good luck,

There has been a discussion going on isa server list regarding this issue and
looks like the only option is to either use a split dns or let them vpn. I have
the same scenario and finally gave up. Do you have isa server in place?
