You can also save the whole GFI folder, so you don't lose your Bayesian database and black/whitelists. It keeps these settings in .MDB files. You could also put a newer version of groupshield, dude (if you can) ;) There's no way to save its settings, but it shouldn't cause you any trouble. Spend some 15 minutes and reconfigure it the way it was, like Hermano said. Tiago de Aviz SoftSell (41) 340-2363 www.softsell.com.br -----Mensagem original----- De: Hermano JS. Sometimes is better to take a look instead of only replace it. The upgrade will be performed on the same machine. Right now I have GroupShield 5.2 and GFI MailEssentials 9 running to protect Exchange. My question is how to deal with those two applications during the upgrade? Should I uninstall and reinstall after or just stop and disable the services? For MailEssentials, GFI recommends to backup the config files, uninstall and reinstall in the same folder after upgrade, but I'm not sure what to do with the antivirus. Any suggestion or advice will be appreciated, Thank you, Cristian Bratu ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: World of Windows Networking: http://www.windowsnetworking.com Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSEXchange.org Discussion List as: hjsqueiroz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: World of Windows Networking: http://www.windowsnetworking.com Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSEXchange.org Discussion List as: tiago@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist
