Surely what you have experienced should be encouraging you to go with someone who supports their products? (Error message Error: "1607 Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime"). Both "Symantec's" fixes failed to cure it and I got tired of waiting for a reply from their help desk. The cure was to revert to version 7.6 which seemed to load quite well. I'd be interested to hear of successful installations as that would encourage me to persevere!
