Let me try to clarify. The virtual machine displays the correct info Owner and I can view the content and manipulate data and assign permissions and do everything else that owner can do . The real environment shows me as contributor and I can only do what contributor allows. Yes it did work before for several years. It has been about a month that this problem exists. I have disabled any COM addins , etc . I have run repair on my Outlook. I have used PFDAVADMIN to view the permission ( correctly listed as Owner) and to propagate permissions , in case something was corrupted on the folder itself. I have used the repair DACL function in PFDAVADMIN. The only thing I have not done is format my machine and reinstall. You should check the rights settings and compare them on both the fysical as well as the virtual environment. Has it ever worked appropriatly? Since when does this problem occur? 2009/6/18 Motlik, Richard <RMotlik@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> The rights are my name as owner. This is correctly reflected in the virtual environment , yet on my workstation the permission is contributor. I logged on with my normal account on both machines , my admin account has no mailbox. cached ?? I have changed my profile to not use cached mode and I have used it with cached mode , no change. I'm seriously inclined to believe this is an outlook issue but have not found a precedent Thanks for your help Richard ________________________________ From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mario Karèl Sent: June 18, 2009 7:31 AM To: exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ExchangeList] Re: Public folder permission mismatch Hi Richard, I have received and read your email message. Your problem, could it be related to rights issues? Obviously, the virtual system seem to show the correct content. Questions that came up: With what account did you logon? Are you sure that the content that is shown, is not cached? Have you tried to refresh the content and did you succeed? Please reply. 2009/6/16 Motlik, Richard <RMotlik@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Hello I have a single Exchange 2003 server on SP2. I have an outlook 2003 client, the permissions which I have assigned to myself to certain Public Folders are not aligned. I have one PF where I am the owner, in outlook I cannot view the contents of the folder and right clicking on permissions lists my permissions as contributor . To further complicate the issue when I access the PF from another outlook 2003 client ( say on a virtual machine ) I can see the contents of the PF and the permission as owner are correctly displayed . I have tried the repair option in outlook 2003 with no success , I am looking to see if there is something else that could be the source of this problem Regards, Richard Motlik Administrateur Exchange Exchange Administrator ratiopharm inc Tel: 450) 433-2927 Ext: 8484 Email: rmotlik@xxxxxxxxxxxxx www.ratiopharm.ca -- Kind regard, Mario Karèl, MCSA - Messaging 2003 MCP 2000/2003 Comptia certified Network Professional 2002 Certified IT Learning Assistant.
