Public folder conflict message and backup utility

i'm new to exchange and to this list
so if anyone can help me, i'd be very grateful
question no 1:
what should i use to backup my public folder?(and the plus minus factors)
question no 2:
how can i prevent conflict message?(a conflict occurs when multiple edits have
been made to the same message)
