If you upgrade to OL2K3 that alone won't help you. You'll have to create a
new PST using the 2003 format, then import your old 1.7GB PST into the new
file. That will get around the old size limitation.

I had the same issue with a large PST file and that solved the problem.

You may want to try opening the PST file with Outlook 2003, it can support
PST files larger than 2GB. If you don't have access to Outlook 2003 here is

I have a pst which has crossed the size of 1.78 GB. Can someone help me

moment i  try to access the pst , my system hungs.
