Here you go

From the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, go to the following key:

   \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem

On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and type "Logon Only As" (without the
quotation marks) in the Value Name text box. Type "REG_MULTI_SZ" (without
the
quotation marks) in the Data Type text box.

Subject: [exchangelist] Prevent users from logging in information store

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Group,

I need to do some maintenance on the Exchange server. I would like to
complete a backup and then run some test.
The trick is, when I do a backup people are still in their email and I would
like to get them out and keep them out.

IS there a way to prevent users access to the information store until I am
done?

Thanks

Scott Van Singel
