[ExchangeList] POP3/SMTP Remote send of Email through my Exchange Server

-------------------------------------------------------I have POP3 service set 
up on my Exchange 2003 Server.  Using Outlook 2003
when I am on the local network I can both send and receive email through
this account.  When I am remote, connected via my Cable modem I can receive
email from this account but not send through it.

Did I miss something in my install or in my understanding of the
capabilities?  I have a POP3 account with yahoo.com that is able to send and
receive email, so why can't I get this working for my companies Exchange
server? 

All advice is appreciated.
