Open Outlook > Click Tools > Options > Others and place a tick at Make
Outlook the Default client for mails, calendar etc.
That should help.

donot laugh at me for asking such a simple question. Iam trying to send
a word file as attachement from with in word and it ends up with an
error saying that make outlook as default mail client  .I do not
understand from where I can make my out look as the default mail client
I can't find it anywhere in the options.
can any body tell me how to make my outlook as the default mail client
for word or excel.
