http://www.MSExchange.org/

On the Outlook Tools menu, click Services.

Click the Microsoft Exchange Server service and click Properties.

On the Advanced tab, under "Logon Network Security", click to select "NT
Password Authentication" from the list.

This assumes you are using NT Password Authentication, not Distributed
Password Authentication.

Click OK and OK.

Subject: [exchangelist] Outlook Password Dialog Box

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hi Everyone

A few of my users get the password dialog box everytime they access Outlook.
I have found KB articles in Microsoft's site and a few articles using
Google. The articles all say the same thing. It's a registry edit. What
I've noticed is that it points to:

HKEY_USERS\<UserName>\Software\Microsoft

and it says to add an Exchange Key and then the logon info will populate
that key and that should be that.

However, none of my users has a <UserName> under hkey_Users. There's a
".default" key and some keys with numbers, but that's it.

Should I add a UserName key? Should I do something else? I've tried adding
the Exchange key under .default but that doesn't work.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Delores
