Don't forget to backup! I am assuming the users profile on the server - that has worked for me in most instances. I always backup the users mail to a pst file before doing this (and copying their desktop folder to a safe place) Stephen -----Original Message----- From: Mark Fugatt [mailto:mark@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, March 26, 2004 4:54 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Outlook 2002 Problems http://www.MSExchange.org/ Couple of things to try: 1. Check that the Instant Messaging option in Outlook is not enabled. 2. Delete the users profile and re-create it[Stephen Hartley responds] But backup the users mailbox first (export to pst file) Mark Fugatt MCSE, MCT, Microsoft Exchange MVP Pentech Office Solutions Inc Rochester, NY Tel: 585 586 3890 Cell: 585 576 4750 http://www.4mcts.com <http://www.4mcts.com/> http://www.exchangetrainer.com <http://www.exchangetrainer.com/> _____ From: Knutsen, Vicki [mailto:vickik@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2004 1:38 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Outlook 2002 Problems http://www.MSExchange.org/ This is also happening on a Win XP laptop so I am hoping to find a solution. I'm not sure whether it's outlook related or XP related. On my computer, when it happens SVCHOST.EXE goes to 100% processor utilization. I've been unable to figure out why. _____ From: Knutsen, Vicki [mailto:vickik@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2004 1:00 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Outlook 2002 Problems http://www.MSExchange.org/ Has anyone had some of these similar problems with Outlook 2002? 1. I experience a "stop" while typing an e-mail....and need to wait 10 -15 seconds before the thing "wakes up" again... Often, when it does "wake up" the curser is in some other place, and I'm finding myself typing in a completely different row. 2. While typing, the things freezes and the "requesting information" comes on down in the lower tray. When that happens, I have to quickly "CANCEL" the requesting motion to save my e-mail. Even at that, the e-mail gets 'CORRUPTED' and it saves it is "to be sent" mail. I've got 2 in that hopper right now and I'll go and see if I can send them right now, or if the error message comes up again..............be right back................. 3. The "drafts" were there, and I was able to send them.... However, by the "clock" I am spending nearly 1/4 of my time waiting for various problems that I have with Outlook and doing my morning e-mails...
