Outbound from Exchange 2000

All internal mail flows with no problems, and email is received from
external sources, but no one can send email to any external domain. I can
manually drop a message into the Pickup directory, and it is sent ok. But
any mail sent from the outlook client ends up in the BadMail directory.
Exchange 2000 Server w/sp2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, either post here or email
