Different domains (from different forests) don't sync between them.
Pass through authentication works if trusts exists. Windows 2000 uses kerberos
but soports NTLM (used in NT4 domains).
Now for Exchange, you would use the ADC during migration phase to Exchange
2000... if you're not migrating you don't need to use it.

Thanks Julio... but will the BDC's housing Exchange 5.5 be able to sync and
communicate with the directory services in the AD Forest via ADC while AD is in
native mode?

Native mode affects only domain controllers! Mixed mode supports NT4 BDCs,
native mode doesn't. Native mode has new functionality enabled specially
related with administration (you can now nest groups for example). All your
workstations and trusts will keep on working fine!

Hi all,
I have a 2-way trust set up between an NT domain and a 2k mixed-mode domain,
this works fine.
There are no NT servers in the 2k domain.
If I were to change the 2K domain to Native Mode, will the trust still work?
