OT: Merging two Active-Directories

Dear list,
I know this is somehow a bit offtopic. However, I need to know if it`s
possible to join one independent active directory as a child domain into
another existing one?! I think this can be done with AD2003 native-mode but
unfortunately the existing domain is AD2K. I would really appreciate if
someone could give me a hint...
