I added a new smtp entry to the Default Recipient Policy it is: %g.%s@xxxxxxx 
(%g = first name, %s = lastname) so all users should automatically get a new 
email address first.last@xxxxxxx

I don't this yesterday but it is not working and I forced RUS to "Update 
Now"...what am I doing wrong?

"I would recommend using the Recipient Policy to add the email addresses,
not manually via ADUC." Did you try this suggestion from Mark?
