As we added the proxy SMTP address in the properties of user's mailbox in
5.5, can we have the seperate mailbox with the second SMTP mail address for
the same user? and will it show in GAL ?

It is pretty much the same with Exchange 5.5 the major difference is that
Exchange 5.5 does not have Recipient Policies so you would have to add the
email addresses manually for your users, and you do not have SMTP Virtual
Servers in 5.5 you have SMTP Connectors.

server 2K. I guess same way we can do on Exchange server 5.5 too ?
