Sounds like the mail folder he is moving the email to could be a PST
file and Exchange is set to deliver to his mailbox rather than PST
Had something similar with Exch 5.5 but don't bother with PST's any

Subject: [exchangelist] Moving emails automatically go back to inbox

A user has reported that when he drags emails from his inbox to another
folder the message automatically goes back to his inbox after a short
period of time. This happens intermittently.
Using Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003.
Has anybody experienced this? and of so, do you have a fix or reason for
it happening?
Many thanks in advance.
