-------------------------------------------------------The files (log and db)
are moved for you.
Noted the database will be dismounted.

Depending on the size, there could be an extended downtime for all the while
the DB is dismounted.

Subject: [ExchangeList] Moving Stores / Log Files on Exchange 2003

http://www.msexchange.org
-------------------------------------------------------Morning all,

I've realised that the server partition holding our data for Exchange
2003 is woefully short of space so I'd like to move the data stores to
another disk location to get a bit of breathing space while we search for a
more long-term solution.

I've seen the instructions at this site:-

http://www.petri.co.il/move_exchange_stores_to_a_different_disk.htm

It doesn't seem too complicated, but I have a question.

After hitting the Browse button and choosing the new location for the stores
does Exchange actually move the files for me, or am I expected to manually
move then in Windows Explorer?

Rob
