Ahhhh, Michael, you make step 7 seem so insignificant and easy.... :-)
I'm guessing the DC was the first Exchange server in the organization.
If so it's can be a real B*&ch to remove. Do a little research on MS
site to see how to remove the first server. There are step by step
instructions on how to do it, but if it doesn't fly right the first try
ADSIedit is going to become your best friend.
BTW, didn't your Mom ever tell you to never put Exchange on a DC? ;-)

I am moving Exchange to a non domain controller from a domain controller
windows 2003 exchange 2003.
1 Create new member server different name than original Exchange
2 Install Exchange 2003 and patch
3 move mail boxes
4 Done?
Gee is that easy, can't be.
Thanks Bruce Rose

Subject: [ExchangeList] Contact Question
Hi,
We are running Exchange 2003, on a windows 2000 os. We have just bought
21 domain names and are in the process of testing them. I'm going to
set them up as relay's in our exchange environment so we can accept
mail.
Is there a way in exchange to route mail from these new domains to one
person without having to set up a contact or add an smtp email address?
Thanks.
Regards,
-Christine
