"Leave the old Exchange server up and running for a while so that MAPI clients can be redirected to the new server. Yes, it happens automagically as long as the client can connect to the old server at least once before you shut it down." Don't neglect this step! Making sure to leave the old server up until all clients have made the transparent move will save you a LOT of headache, trust me. You're moving EXCH 2K off your domain controller so make sure to skip the steps in blue, otherwise that article details it to the letter. I know this is not the greatest way of doing it, but I did not have another available server and it was working ok. Now that I purchased a new server, I would like to move my Exchange 2K to the new server. What is the proper procedure of doing so? Could you explain in details?
