Probably a good way to deal with this is to first define "secure" in your
own terms. What does that mean to you?

SSL will secure the transmission to a reasonable level, but is that enough
security for you and your company? Or do you require more?

Along with the version of Exchange you're using, let us know your
requirements in more detail and we'll be better able to help.

Exchange Version please....

You can use SSL.
Exchange 5.5 you can change the port
Other Exchange version - If you have FW you can route ports (exchange must
use the default ports)
