BE AWARE! I used Webshield as a gateway for my Exchange 5.5 organization
and it is EXTREMELY limited. The version for Exchange 2000 is supposed to
be considerably better, but I have had so much bad luck with it that I no
longer use that solution. Also, I do not recommend removing Groupshield
from your exchange boxes... Webshield for 5.5 only allowed for keyword
blocks and did no virus scanning to my recolection. All in all, I would
recommend that you take a look at GFI MailEssentials and Mail Security as a
Mail Gateway. It has 4 virus scanning utilities, Bayseian filters, and a
much more robust filter list. The price is very cheap as well. Also, like
Tiago said, Webshield will eat up your system resources... GFI is not as
bad with resources and offers so much more.
Just my two cent on Webshield.

Hey zafar,
I have two customers using this solution. The Exchange box is sitting pretty
calm now, and we put the Webshield on the ISA box. The only "but" in this
history is that the machine with Webshield has very high CPU usage for my
taste. Other than that, it's cool.

Hi all
I am using Exchnage 5.5 with Mcafee Groupshield, till now its wotking fine.
Because of the My Doom mass mailing i want to saperate virus scanning from
the Exchange. I am planning to use Mcafee Webshield SMTP as gateway , please
guide me what is the best way to do that. Is it good idea to do so or what
are the other ways to do this more effectively. Please comment.
