Hello William,
If the message is reaching the categorizer and is not reaching the
mailbox, it could be related to directory look up failure or the routing
engine is not doing what it is supposed to do. Have you looked at all
the queues under the SMTP protocol. If not, first verify all the queues
and check if messages are pending in a queue, and tell us which queue is
pending. Also, are you able to send outgoing messages? One way to test
your SMTP mail routing is as follows,

C:\>telnet exchangeserverIP 25
Telnet>helo <cr>
Telnet> mail from:youremail@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Telnet>rcpt to:youremail@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Telnet>data <cr>
Telnet> test test test <cr>
Telnet> test test test <cr>
Telnet>. <cr>

See if you received the test mail from the telnet session.

Regards,

Raj

Subject: [exchangelist] Mail Stopping at the Message Submitted to
Categorizer

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hello,

I have Exchange 2003 on a Microsoft Small Business Server 2004. I have
configured the POP connector to download mails from my ISP. I have added
the
domain name for the external email domain to the Recipient Policy so
that I
can set the default Sender address to the real mail domain name.

For example

Username: foo
Internal Domain Name: mycompany.local
External Domain Name: mycompany.com

Mail sent to foo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx is picked up by POP connector and dropped
into
foo's mailbox. When replying the reply to address is set to
foo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The recipient policy contains mycompany.local and mycompany.com with
mycompany.com configured as the default address.

For some reason (that may have nothing to do with this setup) when mail
is
received it gets as far as SMTP: Message Submitted to the Categorizer.
It
never moves on to the users mailbox.

What might cause this to happen? Thanks for any insight.

Bill
