I had a similar problem recently, although the error was the same my domain
controllers were not listed.
Try running /domainprep.
Good luck

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Process MAD.EXE (PID=1512). All Domain Controller Servers in use are not
responding:

  and it lists my DC's

MS kb says this error occurs when there is only one dc or gc in a domain, but
i have two in place and both are listed in the error.
