Using the NTBackup utility that comes with Exchange you should see an option
for Exchange backups.  You cannot use regular file type backups to
accomplish this. 


There is a great document on Microsoft's website that deals with
step-by-step backup and recovery (which is really more important, right?).
You can find it at http://www.microsoft.com/exchange and search for the
disaster recovery whitepapers.

All,

I'm using MS Exchange Server 2000, SP2. I tried to backup the mail box but
it cannot be restored, If I Dismount mail box and Public Folder and backup
by windows utility then restore: it work ok

Anyone help me to back up online or setting auto Dismount to backup.
