Local Delivery / Group Expansion

Odd problem; just wondering if anyone else has come across this...
We seem to be having a problem with local mail delivery to some groups. If
someone sends an email to a group of recipients, not all group members receive
the email. The groups all contain nested sub-groups within them. The odd
thing is that it seems if the user only adds one group to the recipients list,
it seems to send too all group/sub-group members. If she adds multiple groups,
some recipients do not receive the email.
Has anyone run across this before? Any ideas as to where to look?
