Main limitation is that you the SBS server is your ONLY domain
controller. You cannot add another domain controller to your network.
Otherwise, it's a good solution.

Thanks,

Does anyone have any thoughts on Small Business Server in this
regard? As i read it, it covers licensing for Exchange and 2000 Server
for up to 50 users. Is there a downside to this? We currently have
30-35 users, with limited growth planned.

You also need CAL for any other software that accesses
the services or functionality of the server Software - unless it's
anonymous access.

Anonymous access is - unauthenticated device accesses
information held in the server without having a mailbox or custom
recipient object which identifies the device or a service that does not
receive credentials from Windows 2000 Directory Service.

For Example if you use Backup Exec as your backup
software you have to have a CAL for it.

You will need either a per seat or per server licence
for the Win2K

Also you will need licences for the 50 users to connect
to Exchange ie 50 Exchange 2000 CALS

                Hi All,

This is probably a basic question, but i'm new at this.
If I'm setting up an Exchange 2000 server for about 50 users, I
obviously need to get Exchange licensing for that many. But what about
WIndows 2000 Server? If I'm just using the box as an Exchange server,
does that also need 50 client licenses, or will just the basic package
cover it legally?

                Thanks,
