Have you stopped the exchange services on the 5.5 server to test running
without it?

Actually, the exchange 5.5 server is not in the 2000 administrative
group. We just have a 5.5 connector. You can't even see the 5.5 server
in our ESM, but they are sharing the same SMTP address space.

Subject: [exchangelist] Last Exchange 5.5

I have two domains and one is the new 2000 and one is the old NT. We are
ready to get rid of the 5.5 server since all mailboxes are migrated to
the exchange 2000 domain. I want to uninstall exchange 5.5 from that
server before removing the connector and adc. I need proof that this is
the best method. any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Amy
