Last Exchange 5.5

I have two domains and one is the new 2000 and one is the old NT.
We are ready to get rid of the 5.5 server since all mailboxes are migrated to
the exchange 2000 domain.
I want to uninstall exchange 5.5 from that server before removing the connector
and adc. I need proof that this is the best method. any ideas?
