Hi Everyone,

The problem:

I freelance Sys admin for quite a few small businesse's, Using Ms Small
Business Server 2000. One of my clients needs to send out large e-mail
shots 50 to 100,000 e-mails (not spam but genuine offers to thier
customers).
The problem seems to be caused by duff e-mail addresse's within thier
mailing lists. mail goes out ok but as to be expected duff addresse's get
returned ,wherby the server tries to re-submitt these duff addresesse's.

This is causing the following problem: Urgent/everday e-mail is being
seriously delayed eg. sitting in the que behind the mail waiting to be
re-submitted.

Re setting mail priorities and delivery timeouts does not seem to help and
short of deleting the mail que, I havent managed to resolve this problem.

Any advice or help would be much appreciated, I have had a good look at
the archives but have not found anything that seems to address this
problem.

In anticipation.

Best regards.

Rick Parsons

As a footnote: When the que is finally completed mail delivery reverts
back to normal and all is well.
Info: all mail is sent using DNS/SMTP directly, dns is working fine.
