Hi Tom,
Best of luck in your interview. I hear that Microsoft is also a good place to
work and that they pay reasonably well. Any company such as Microsoft who has
50 Billion in the bank should pay fair market rate for an employee with the
right skils and experience, it's the honorable and right thing to do. I am not
sure what type of offer Thomas W Shinder, M.D. was looking for, but if he
really is an M.D., I am sure it must have been high six figures.
Sincerely,
Jose Medeiros

Well, they just called me last week after i posted my resume to them about 2
months ago.
I just started working for a big financial corp in New York and was involved in
their migrating from an exisitng but screwed up AD/Exchange Forest to a new one
using Quest tools.
By the questions I was asked, I think thats what got their attention.
Also, the way my career in IT has gone, my last job I was doing everything-
watchguard firewall, cisco router/switch infrastructure, linux mail
gateway, plus exchange/AD and now i'm focused solely on AD/Exchange. Nothing
else.
So i think the MS HR person liked that I had a varied backround before I came
to AD/Exchange.
Anyway, I hope he calls back to set up the phone tech interview and i'll let
you guys know how that went.
Thanks

Thomas,
Thanks for the response regarding the MS interviewing process. I met a MS
employee at a wedding this past weekend, and he said MS are on a hiring
rampage. I'd LOVE to work for MS myself, but I'm concerned my tech skills lay
outside their forte (I have worked in the Industrial Controls industry for the
past 8 yrs, but I handle the "IT" responsibilities and interface with many MS
products on a daily basis).
Any advice on how to "spice up" a resume? What flags would MS be looking for,
in terms of resumes?
Thanks for any advice!

I had the opportunity to interview for a position with MS. I have to say that
the people at MS are the nicest and most professional group of people I've ever
had the pleasure to meet. The interview process was fun and I got to know a lot
about them and they got to know a lot about me. They offered me a position, but
I couldn't convince my wife to accept the pay cut I would have had would be
worth it. MS would have been a great place to work and I hope that in the
future I can convince my wife that I should give it another chance.
Don't fear the interview process. Be yourself, be honest, put your best foot
forward, and you'll do well. You'll learn a lot when you start working with
them.

Thanks, Manju!
I'd love to work at MS.
So far i was contacted last week and had a 25min HR type interview on the phone.
The recruiter then said he would call this week for a 30min phone tech
interview and if that went well, I would be called in for a face to face.
I haven't heard from him yet to set up the tech phone interview.
As i said, the only thing i'm kinda nervous about is Exchange 5.5 questions as
i haven't touched an exchange 5.5 server in about 3.5 years.
Thanks for taking an interest!
