Subject: [exchangelist] Internet Mail connectors and Relay redundancy

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hey guys,

Current Config:
    - Exchange 5.5
    - Using GFI Mail Essentials (IIS SMTP mail relay) on Windows 2000
Server

The SMTP (GFI) relay servers sit in the DMZ and of course all Exchange
servers are inside the secure network.

I need to design redundancy in our current exchange organization. The
ultimate goal is to have two GFI boxes with IIS SMTP services and two
Exchange Internet Mail connectors on different exchange servers. It is
simple enough to create the needed external MX records for the IIS SMTP
servers. I need help configuring the SMTP services and IMC's to
automatically exchange mail to the available connectors internally.

There has to be someone out there who has designed failover redundancy using
mail relays for their exchange org. Any assistance or links to documents
would be great!

Thanks,
Chris
